Before connecting and sharing online

Think about who you connect and share with online, and what your (or your child’s) profile and privacy settings are. Once something is made public, its almost impossible to remove or control who can access it. However, we can do some things to try and get greater control.
Talk to your child about what they're happy to share with you and others. Then look together at family and friends' shared activities for ideas of what could be shared and what shouldn't.
Remember: by using technologies to contact people online, you are getting to know the real world, you're increasing the serve and return interactions that help your child's brain to develop in a positive way, and you're helping them to find their place in the world.
