Inquiring about tests/exams

Children who are good at school are generally more willing to talk about tests and exams to their parents. Children who tend to have lower grades are much more hesitant to share any kind of information. So when you know that there has been a test or an exam the question “How did the test/exam go?” might not produce a very satisfying response. Instead, try to ask more specific questions like “What did you find easy?” or “What was difficult for you?” and encourage them to be more specific about what went well and what didn't.
