About Pinterest
Pinterest is a visual discovery engine for finding ideas related to, for example, recipes, crafts, decoration and travel, and it hosts pictures, videos and products. Users should be at least 13 years old and can set up boards to save pins that interest them. Pinterest feeds users with new content in two different ways: sending you pins from people you follow, or by picking pins that it thinks you would be interested in based on what you have already looked at on its app and other websites. Herein lies the problem because there is pornographic and other unsuitable content available on the site, at least until it is reported and Pinterest takes it down. Parents should be aware that they have the option to turn off the ability to receive pins suggested by Pinterest.
